Mental Health Clinician | 12 Week Contract | Community Mental Health
Location: Kingaroy, QLD
Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm (38 hours per week)
Contract: Initial 12-week contract with potential to transition to permanent

We are currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to support a well-established community mental health service in Kingaroy. This is an initial 12-week contract with an immediate start, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

This service provides accessible mental health support for adults within the community through a walk-in model, offering assessment, triage, brief interventions, and referrals to appropriate services. The centre plays an important role in supporting individuals who require timely mental health care while bridging the gap between acute services and ongoing community supports.

The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside senior clinicians and clinical leadership, you will deliver short to medium-term, evidence-based interventions and support individuals presenting with a range of mental health needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
• Developing and implementing treatment and management plans
• Delivering goal-focused, recovery-oriented interventions
• Supporting individuals presenting in distress or crisis
• Working collaboratively with internal teams and community services to coordinate care

This role suits clinicians who are confident working in a community setting and comfortable managing presentations within a walk-in service model.

About You

You are an experienced mental health professional who is passionate about improving access to care and supporting recovery within the community.

You will demonstrate:

• Experience in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and intervention
• Strong skills in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning
• A recovery-oriented and strengths-based approach to care
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
• Knowledge of mental health systems, legislation, and professional standards

Requirements

• Current professional registration (AHPRA or AASW where applicable)
• Current Driver Licence
• Current National Police Check
